Dr. Stephanie McClung – Galveston Brain Changers

Licensed Clinical Christian Therapist, Neurofeedback Provider

Dr. McClung has more than 20 years in the field of education as a classroom teacher, Reading Specialist, and private homeschool educator. She has extensive knowledge of the framework and practices within specialized programs (both Federal and State), including Special Education and 504. She has significant experience effectively working with troubled youth and their families. Dr. McClung is a trained interventionist and has facilitated drug and alcohol intervention teams within the schools. She was trained by Franklin-Covey as a Seven Habits facilitator. She developed a curriculum that has been used in the middle school classroom, and she utilizes these with techniques with pre-teens and teens in counseling sessions.

During her life as an educator, teaching and counseling students and families, Dr. McClung developed an interest in brain function from childhood into adulthood. After receiving her ThD in Christian counseling, she learned about neurofeedback and opened Brain Changers in Dallas with her business partner, Mindy Fritz. Biblical emphasis is applied when counseling Christians. Dr. McClung believes counseling goals need to be based on brain function, physiology, and healthy behavioral outcomes.

After seeing firsthand how beneficial neurofeedback can be for so many clients, Dr. McClung decided to return to school to receive training from BCIA as a Neurofeedback provider. She has been providing neurofeedback in Galveston since November 2015.

Dr. McClung is blessed with a wonderful husband, and she is mother to two beautiful young adult daughters who have both benefited greatly from neurofeedback. She is very interested in nutrition, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle. She and her husband love the ocean and the relaxation that the beach offers, so they recently moved to Galveston. Previously with Dallas Brain Changers, Dr. McClung desires to continue to help clients in Galveston County find improved health and relaxation.
